Napoleon Hill wrote in the book, “Think and Grow Rich”, “Thoughts become things.” “You are what you think about.” Did you know that we unconsciously have over 60,000 thoughts running through our minds every single day? Yes that’s right our brain is a racing machine that brings about so many emotions throughout the day. We are happy for one moment, sad the next, then all of sudden we feel worried or frustrated. Sounds crazy huh? Well, it’s real. We all experience so many emotions throughout each day that it could leave us exhausted mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. The earthly things that bother us are what we constantly have on our minds. A bill is due. Your mortgage or rent is behind. You don’t have enough money to pay for this or for that. Your boss is getting on your nerves. You hate your job. You want to move away to run away from your problems. Your significant other is being a pain. You want to lose weight. You want a change, but you don’t know where to start. These are the thoughts. These are the problems that are constantly racing and causing stress among many us. Guess what? The more you think about the unwanted things of life, the more of it will come about.
Let’s switch gears. If thoughts are truly things, then let’s start to think about the things we truly want. Let’s start to control our emotions and always try to think happy thoughts. Again, we are truly magnets. You attract who you are. People can pick up on the negative vibes and negative energy. Either it does one or two things: runs people away, or sways them to be just like you. What you put out into the universe is exactly what you will get. You know that thing called Karma? It’s real. I’ve experienced bad Karma before and let’s just say that it does not feel good. It drained me, but it was totally my fault. My negative thinking brought about negative things. I had to shift gears. Out of the 60,000 thoughts per day, most of it came from worrying, frustration and blaming the world. My emotions were running all the way to a dead end that led to absolutely nowhere.
Now, my thoughts each and every single day begins with a positive one. I begin my day thanking the Lord for his many blessings to come. My thoughts are: I will make my day positive. I will make someone else’s day positive. I am happy. I am inspiration. I am hope. I am successful. I am trust. I am love. I am a Godly woman walking in my purpose. I am strength. I am faith. I am a work in progress, and nothing or no one will stop me. God is my strength, and he will guide me through the day. Yes, these are my words. I have them written down. I read them every single morning. After prayer, I repeat my affirmations and put my words and my thoughts into the universe. I simply look for the blessings in each day.
Am I perfect? No. Do I have shortcomings? Yes. Am I tested and tried throughout the day? ABSOLUTELY!! I laugh at those moments and I immediately shift my thinking. I realize that you cannot control the walks and talks of others, but you can surely control how you react to things that may come your way. You must choose the many thoughts that come into your mind. It’s ok if you have a few negative thoughts because that’s should always be your reminder, your pinch, your kick to get back on the right frequency….your goal should be 60,000 positive thoughts per day! I believe in you!
