60,000 thoughts per day

Napoleon Hill wrote in the book, “Think and Grow Rich”, “Thoughts become things.” “You are what you think about.” Did you know that we unconsciously have over 60,000 thoughts running through our minds every single day? Yes that’s right our brain is a racing machine that brings about so many emotions throughout the day. We are happy for one moment, sad the next, then all of sudden we feel worried or frustrated. Sounds crazy huh? Well, it’s real. We all experience so many emotions throughout each day that it could leave us exhausted mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. The earthly things that bother us are what we constantly have on our minds. A bill is due. Your mortgage or rent is behind. You don’t have enough money to pay for this or for that. Your boss is getting on your nerves. You hate your job. You want to move away to run away from your problems. Your significant other is being a pain. You want to lose weight. You want a change, but you don’t know where to start. These are the thoughts. These are the problems that are constantly racing and causing stress among many us. Guess what? The more you think about the unwanted things of life, the more of it will come about.

Let’s switch gears. If thoughts are truly things, then let’s start to think about the things we truly want. Let’s start to control our emotions and always try to think happy thoughts. Again, we are truly magnets. You attract who you are. People can pick up on the negative vibes and negative energy. Either it does one or two things: runs people away, or sways them to be just like you. What you put out into the universe is exactly what you will get. You know that thing called Karma? It’s real. I’ve experienced bad Karma before and let’s just say that it does not feel good. It drained me, but it was totally my fault. My negative thinking brought about negative things. I had to shift gears. Out of the 60,000 thoughts per day, most of it came from worrying, frustration and blaming the world. My emotions were running all the way to a dead end that led to absolutely nowhere.

Now, my thoughts each and every single day begins with a positive one. I begin my day thanking the Lord for his many blessings to come. My thoughts are: I will make my day positive. I will make someone else’s day positive. I am happy. I am inspiration. I am hope. I am successful. I am trust. I am love. I am a Godly woman walking in my purpose. I am strength. I am faith. I am a work in progress, and nothing or no one will stop me. God is my strength, and he will guide me through the day. Yes, these are my words. I have them written down. I read them every single morning. After prayer, I repeat my affirmations and put my words and my thoughts into the universe. I simply look for the blessings in each day.

Am I perfect? No. Do I have shortcomings? Yes. Am I tested and tried throughout the day? ABSOLUTELY!!  I laugh at those moments and I immediately shift my thinking. I realize that you cannot control the walks and talks of others, but you can surely control how you react to things that may come your way.  You must choose the many thoughts that come into your mind. It’s ok if you have a few negative thoughts because that’s should always be your reminder, your pinch, your kick to get back on the right frequency….your goal should be 60,000 positive thoughts per day! I believe in you!

Beware….FEAR IS THE DEVIL!!

I will begin this post with a scripture that moves me in a mighty way, “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, DO NOT FEAR, I will help you. –Isaiah 41:13

So my question to those who are reading this, why are we so fearful to the do and be the things that we really want to be? Clearly, the Lord above has given us the strength and the power to do the unimaginable.  Why is it so hard to take the first step? Procrastination is the biggest dream killer of all. When you put your dreams on hold, it’ll never happen for you. When you put your dreams in God’s hands and walk by faith, he will make it so that you will reach them.  Pay attention to the people, events, and things around you that could help you piece your dream together bit by bit. If you aren’t focused on what you really want, you will not see what the good Lord is doing for you. Don’t be so worried about what you don’t want for your life, focus on what you desire the most and allow him to manifest it for you! Take it for me, it works. I was afraid to take the first step because I didn’t believe I could become an entrepreneur, but I stepped out on faith and that’s when the miracles begin to happen.

Your first step is to ASK God for it, BELIEVE that it will happen, and then you will begin to RECEIVE what you’ve asked for. It takes time, patience, and understanding to endure. Don’t lose sight of it, because you will miss it at the drop of a dime. Don’t allow ANYONE’s opinion of you to become your reality. People often times think that you can’t do something because deep down in their souls they feel as though they aren’t capable of doing it. Think about it…..have you ever heard a successful person say, “YOU CAN’T DO THAT” or “YOU WILL NEVER MAKE IT.” Personally, the doubters are the ones who are fearful and the believers are those who understand the POWER of being BOLD and FEARLESS. Anything done once is an attempt that you’ve tried, but if not done at all is truly failure. So, what if you take the first step and YOU NEVER QUIT? Most of the time success is just one single step away, but if you stop, you’ll never reach that LAST and FINAL step.

Thomas Edison, for example, created the light bulb. We use lights and electricity every single day, but not once have we thought of the blood, sweat, and tears that came into play for him to accomplish something so huge that it impacted the world in such a major way. This was truly his passion, and he never gave up! As a matter of fact he quoted, “I didn’t fail 999 times, I just thought of 999 ways that it did not work.” Wow….talk about a heart for what he created. He believed in his heart that he was going to find a find a way, and he surely did.

The moral of this story is don’t allow fear to be your reason why you have not begun to work on your dreams. You were made to do so much more. You are worthy of living the life of your dreams. You were made to be fearless. FEAR IS THE DEVIL.  Have faith in God. He will help you. Now, let’s get to work dreamers! I believe in you!

What You Believe Can Change Overnight

I’ve chosen to write about this particular subject because there are a lot of people out there who may need to hear this.

Recently, someone asked me why I chose to walk away from a teaching career after 8 and a half years of being there. My answer to their question was, “I wasn’t happy, my beliefs changed.” When my beliefs changed, I changed! I absolutely loved teaching young children, but the system pushed me out of the door. The fun of teaching had been stripped away from me, and it left me in a box that I dreaded going to every single day! I prayed for a way out, and I no longer wanted to be in a place that didn’t make me feel happy about what I was doing! I was empty, a bit ungrateful of my accomplishments at the moment, but I realized what I was worth. I said,” God if you can send something my way that I would truly love doing, I would be the best I can be for you and me!” I had no clue what I wanted to do, but the goodness of God brought me to where I am today!

Now, we have all heard the statement…”I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.” This is exactly how I was feeling. I know you are probably wondering why I felt this way, and I will proceed to tell you exactly why! I realized that a degree doesn’t guarantee the level of success that one wants to obtain. I do believe that education is very important, and I am in full support of gaining the necessary skills for a particular field. However, self-education and self-knowledge is the most important education of them all. How do I know? It’s because I have learned more about life in a 2 year period than I have ever learned in my 18 years of formal education! I was dumbfounded and totally outdone at the information that was revealed to me. You don’t know what you don’t know until you start searching for answers and testimonies of people who were winning with NO SCHOOLING involved. Are you kidding me…were my thoughts, and as I gained more and more information,  I discovered that if I could change my mindset, (the way that I thought) I could actually change my life!

There you have it! My beliefs changed almost overnight. I felt in the deepest part of my soul that I was made for so much more. I had to YEARN FOR MORE. I had to develop the attitude that no one or nothing can set a limit on the things that I could accomplish for my life. I had to determine my definition of happiness. I believe that no one should be in a bitter broken environment that doesn’t inspire them or push to be better. I do believe in having an attitude of gratitude, but if you are not truly happy with your job, YOU DON’T HAVE TO STAY THERE! I didn’t say quit your job today, but I am encouraging you to start RIGHT NOW thinking about your future and where you would like to see yourself doing in the next few years and take action towards those goals. Don’t continue to be that bitter, complaining, employee that blames everyone around you for your happiness.  Stop it!! The ENEMY is the INNER YOU! Take a look in the mirror.  Change starts with you!  If you can change the way you think, you will change your life!! Choose happiness, choose positivity, choose to keep pushing forward until you have reached your goals. Yearn for more spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and financially. After all, life is about having a healthy balance! Allow no one to set a limitation for your life. The sky is no longer the limit! “Adopt-a-belief” and watch how you will fly!

Nothing In Life Comes Easy!

Worried? Depressed? Lost all hope? What are you to do at that moment? Some people tend to worry themselves to their death beds, while others go out and create ways to turn circumstances around. One thing that we all can relate to as humans is realizing that NOTHING IN LIFE COMES EASY!

We all have to struggle at times in life whether it’s physically, mentally, spiritually, or financially. How we tackle these struggles is a direct correlation to the way that we think. Physically, we know and understand that food is a driving force to having energy and being healthy, but the question remains……do you really want to be healthy and are you committed to becoming physically fit? Commitment requires a focused thought process and retraining and conditioning of the mind! That takes strength. The bible quotes, “You can do all things through Christ which strengthens you.” This bible verse floats around freely, but is not used to one’s advantage.

In order to have the strength to do something physically, one must have the mental connection that takes them to a place of having faith in God. He will give you the desire of your heart if you allow him to take control of your mind and your body. Our body is a temple and we must take care of it and allow our strength to keep us focused….NOTHING IN LIFE COMES EASY. Keep the faith….step by step you will get there!
